"Strange how a teapot can represent at the same time the comforts of solitude and the pleasures of company." ~Author Unknown
Reading this quote, we realized why there is a month set aside to celebrate all forms of Tea and that this celebration occurs in the month of January when the weather is still cold and the breeze nips at our comfort. Inn of the Governors has a long standing tradition of pausing between 4pm and 5pm and enjoying Tea and Sherry with our room guests. This time allows us to greet old friends, make new ones and experience Santa Fe through the fresh eyes of those traveling here for the first or maybe even the tenth time. We are very excited to have a special guest this Friday, Karen Gardiner, owner of Artful Tea, hosting a special presentation on her passion for tea. Karen will be brewing some very special teas for all to enjoy.
Even with the cold weather, this is a wonderful time of year to experience the art, artists and galleries of Canyon Road without all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. A guest of the Inn recently noted how she likes to visit this time of year because she gets to spend quality time with local artists and the knowledgeable gallery owners. In the spirit of slowing down, what better way to end a day of strolling through our galleries and filling your soul with the beauty that surrounds you, then to warm your soul with a fine selection of teas and healthy cuisine from the Tea House at the end of Canyon Road. With over 100 loose leaf teas to choose from there is sure to be something new to tantalize your taste buds and whisk away the chill.
We hope you enjoy this special month in celebration of Tea and look forward to welcoming you to Santa Fe and the Inn of the Governors soon!
