Here comes 2014!

The Inn of the Governors is very excited to be partnering with La Boca Restaurant for our premier Renaissance to Goya package, which begins this weekend and runs through March 9, 2014. Feel free to use your $100 gift certificate at this “local’s favorite” restaurant enjoying their vegetarian tapas and salads, pescado or carne entrees and an amazing selection of wines and sherries. Full to capacity almost every night, La Boca is a great place to take in the culture of Santa Fe and do some great people watching while enjoying a fabulous meal. We know you won’t be disappointed.

If you have been reading our past blogs and doing all the things we have recommended thus far, you’ve experienced great art and history in our museums, shopped unique, locally owned stores and enjoyed some of the best meals Santa Fe has to offer. We are betting that you now want to work off some of those calories from your indoor adventures and we have just the place for you to do it. Just twenty minutes from downtown Santa Fe you can experience pristine views, fresh air and a sky that boasts 340 days of sunshine a year. What better way to enjoy this time of year by skiing and snowboarding on the mountain or snowshoeing with a knowledgeable guide such as Outspire. On the way back down the mountain, stop by Ten Thousand Waves and soak in one of their outdoor Japanese tubs or pre-schedule a massage for those tired and soon to be achy muscles. Your body and soul will thank you for the special touch. How better to end this perfect day but other than a belly full of locally raised, seasonal food, a specially brewed hot tea or even maybe a little saki or a Japanese craft beer. The spa’s new restaurant, Izanami is truly an “izakaya – Japanese gastro-pub” and you surely don’t want to miss out on the experience.

If skiing is not your things, then we suggest the Nambe Pueblo’s Feast Day, which is scheduled for January 6th to celebrate All King’s Day. Feast days include traditional dances, cultural activities, food, and arts and crafts vendors. Each dance tells a different story and serves a different purpose. Every dance is considered a prayer, not a performance. This is a very unique and local experience that we encourage you to see.

As the preferred provider of world class service in Santa Fe, the Inn of the Governors invites you to experience this first hand and visit us in 2014! We wish you a New Year filled with prosperity, joy and peace.
