Galleries
Santa Fe is proud of the number and variety of galleries available to locals and visitors. To help plan your visit to Santa Fe’s galleries, here are some of the resources you can use to see all the different kinds of art that Santa Fe has to offer.
Santa Fe Gallery Association
We invite you to be inspired by Santa Fe, the only city in the world that boasts more than 200 world-class art galleries in two square miles, more than a dozen museums, dynamic performing arts and award-winning cuisine. Located at the base of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains beneath brilliant blue skies, Santa Fe is a year-round art experience. www.santafegalleryassociation.org
Railyard Arts District
The Railyard Arts District is home to a group of contemporary art galleries as well as SITE Santa Fe, an internationally known contemporary art space. The goal of this collective effort is to create programming, bring together world-class international contemporary art, and advance the message of contemporary art to the community – both at home and at large. www.santafegalleryassociation.org/railyard
Canyon Road Arts District
On Canyon Road you’ll discover beautifully preserved and restored adobe and Territorial-style homes, on a winding, shaded street. These homes house world-class art galleries showcasing old masters, contemporary paintings and sculpture, traditional Native American weaving, hand-made jewelry and pottery. www.santafegalleryassociation.org/canyon-road
Baca District
The wedged-shaped Baca area marks the southern end of the Railyard and once served as a coal and fuel storage yard for the Denver & Rio Grande and New Mexico Central railways, connected to the North Railyard site by a still visible old rail alignment across the area currently occupied by School of the Deaf. www.railyardsantafe.com/baca-district
SantaFe.com Galleries
Santa Fe is famous for its Friday night art openings, when galleries celebrate the opening of a show by throwing open their doors and inviting the public to meet the artist and enjoy food and drinks. Each February, Santa Fe galleries pair up with local chefs for the annual Edible Art Tour to serve artful food in a gallery setting. Other annual events include the Santa Fe Indian Market, Indigenous Fine Art Market, International Folk Art Market, and the Spanish Market, which draw a combination of locals and visitors in the summer months. There’s always something happening in this cosmopolitan city’s art scene to spotlight the impressive creativity of gifted artists. www.santafe.com/galleries
