Santa Fe Opera
There is no better way to enjoy the Santa Fe summer sunset then with a world-renowned opera. The Santa Fe Opera, located 7 miles north of downtown Santa Fe, is a favorite destination for guests to Santa Fe hotels and locals. Each summer, the Santa Fe Opera entertains and marvels audiences with performances from popular classics to world premieres. Established in the late 1950’s and re-built in the late 1960’s, the open air amphitheater style building is just part of the magic that happens at the Santa Fe Opera. With exquisite views, and excellent acoustics, Santa Fe evenings cannot be enjoyed any other way.
Prior to the performance, enjoy a pre-opera tailgate in the parking lot. Bring your own meal or have one specially prepared for the event. There are also pre-performance informative talks that introduce the current opera and pre-performance buffets on the opera grounds. Shuttles can be arranged for guests of the Inn of the Governors.
During the opera off-season, other performers take advantage of the exquisite stage and sound. Guests to the Inn of the Governors can be directed to performance schedule by request.
