Santa Fe Indian Market

Every August the Santa Fe Indian Market attracts thousands of visitors worldwide to view works from the most gifted Native American artists, including buyers, collectors and gallery owners. Since 1922, over 1,200 Native American artists from pueblos and reservations across the United States converge on the Santa Fe Plaza to showcase handcrafted pieces that represent their tribal nation.

The outdoor weekend long exhibition celebrates Native American culture. Awards are presented in each category. Categories include the Native American clothing, youth, jewelry, painting, pottery, and best in show. For many Santa Fe guests this is a rare opportunity to meet the artists and learn about Native American culture.

All activities take place in downtown Santa Fe. The Santa Fe Plaza is host to the grandstand and main entertainment. However, the booths and food surround and extend three blocks in each direction.
